Family Update from Duane — September 3, 2020

Hello from our family to yours.

We just arrived back home after traveling in the bus again and it was amazing to do so.

Our bus has been parked since November and the last service our family shared was the beginning of October. It is amazing how many things are forgotten when you no longer function in the routine that was once established.

Because of how chronic Alisha’s condition became in September and October while we were living on the bus, every time she stepped back on the bus it literally caused her to feel sick and experience nightmares, We rejoice in the healing God has done for her physically and emotionally.

Our church has walked closely with our family and we’ve been incredibly blessed by their love and prayerful support. Several ladies joined Alisha and prayed with her as she tearfully entered the bus and began processing the extended times of intense pain she endured. And glory be to God the nightmares have not returned!

From a psychological and medical perspective, her trauma specialist indicated it would take a year or more to process and move to a healthy place. But God! We are so undeserving of His goodness and  the love He continues to demonstrate to us.

Alisha is not strong enough to assist us with singing, so we appreciate your continued prayers in the current battle we are facing. We know God is able. I keep reminding myself that it is not so important where we are, but in what direction we are heading. Each day we are looking for things to be grateful for and to celebrate.

We were thankful to again participate in the Gospel Express Annual Benefit Auction. This event usually takes place in April, but it was postponed until last weekend. It was a great turn out and we were blessed to see many of you. Many individuals spoke words of blessing and affirmation into our lives and we arrived back home with full hearts and a greater desire to continue making Christ known.

We are grateful for the five wonderful couples who oversee our ministry focus. We appreciate their insight, direction and their friendship. They help to keep us true to our vision and calling. Our meeting with them last Thursday was an incredible blessing, and we are looking froward to our upcoming ministry focus.

Please pray for us as we attempt to adapt to the current cultural situation and remodel our approach in meeting current needs. A culture in crisis has such a tremendous need to return to God and allow Him to fill us with His peace and purpose.

The past six weeks have been rather difficult for us financially. Our finances are directly met by churches generously taking up offerings when we share at their churches. Obviously, our source of income is gone since this isn’t happening right now. Pray with us as we seek God for clear direction. We are trusting Him to provide direction and finances to continue. We are convinced that He will make a way. He is always faithful. Praise the Lord!

Because of Jesus,
