Greetings from NC.
“To be empty of created things is to be full of God: To be empty of God is to be full of created things.” I was recently challenged and encouraged by this concept. As individuals, we are going to be full of something, whether earthly and temporal or full of the things of God. Because we are in this world, we are tempted and drawn into loving it.
Satan knows our weakest points and will constantly battle against us. Ongoing, daily surrender to God fills us with Himself.
The current events and riots give us the opportunity to identify and exchange our thoughts and actions that are filled with earthly, temporal things. I believe this season is giving each of us the privilege to go deeper in our surrender to God, filling us with greater anointing and purpose.
This week we are doing a single song film project. Brianna is again putting on her creator/director’s “hat” and Cindy and I are assisting in other details as Alisha will be sharing a powerful song. The words to this song are ones that Alisha has been living out. We are excited about the way God will advance His kingdom through the ugliness of Alisha’s painful journey.
As part of our local church leadership, and as a dad, I am thankful for the privilege to walk with our youngest two girls in preparation for baptism. As I go through these teachings, my own heart is energized by the truths of God’s word. There is no greater privilege than to plant seeds of eternal truth into their hearts. I clearly remember my own surrender and commitment while publicly identifying in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. It is exciting when anyone makes this public declaration.
Blessings to you this week as you continue to make Jesus known and demonstrate a life surrendered to Him.
Because of Him,
Duane
