Hello Everyone!

Greetings from “wild and wonderful” West Virginia! Today finds us at a beautiful state park enjoying the great outdoors and some wonderful family time. It just rained here and  the temperature is just perfect. (It feels like mid 70 degrees.) We had a delicious meal made over the fire and Duane has the little girls at the playground that is directly across from our campsite. Brianna and Alisha also have been talking about the various activities that are available here that they want to enjoy. (There is horse back riding, paddle boats, hiking, mini golf, swimming, tram rides, volleyball and more! All for under $30/ night….not bad!) We are grateful for our time here but realized that it was still another “first” experience for us without Austin. It took us awhile to even know what we wanted to do because it just doesn’t seem right to do this without him! Now that we are here, I think everyone is enjoying it and adjusting all right. (We used to have Friday night “Family nights” before Austin passed away but haven’t had those in the past 9 months either…too painful!) God is continuing to heal our hearts but Austin is still so much a part of us and we think about and miss him all the time. I thought I would share a poem with you that I read in my devotional book and it expressed our thoughts so accurately. (read below)

We are beginning our tour next Tuesday and are heading north to New York and then Ontario. At the end of August, we will be in Denver, PA for the Gospel Express tent meetings. It will be a tour with no one along to assist with the little girls. Please pray that they will do good for whoever we find to care for them while we are singing. Kyra is at the age where she’s not very willing to go to people she doesn’t know. (Mommy won’t be very relaxed if her baby is screaming and crying!)

Today, we gave the final approval for the liner of our new CD to be printed. They are hoping the CD will be completed and delivered to us in PA for the last weekend of the tent meetings. We have enjoyed doing this recording in honor of Austin and it is entitled, “Knowing What I Know About Heaven.”  We have recorded a few of his favorite songs as well.

We wish each of you a wonderful evening.

Cindy (for the Mullett Family)

I have been through the valley of weeping,

The valley of sorrow and pain;

But the “God of all comfort” was with me,

At hand to uphold and sustain.

As the earth needs the clouds and sunshine,

Our souls need both sorrow and joy;

So He places us oft in the furnace,

The dross from the gold to destroy.

When He leads through some valley of trouble,

His omnipotent hand we trace;

For the trials and sorrows He sends us,

Are part of His lessons in grace.

Oft we run from the purging and pruning,

Forgetting the Gardener knows

That the deeper the cutting and trimming,

The richer the cluster that grows.

Well He knows that affliction is needed;

He has a wise purpose in view,

And in the dark valley He whispers,

”Soon you’ll understand what I do.”

As we travel through life’s shadowed valley,

Fresh springs of His love ever rise;

And we learn that our sorrows and losses,

Are blessings just sent in disguise.

So we’ll follow wherever He leads us,

Let the path be dreary or bright;

For we’ve proved that our God can give comfort;

Our God can give songs in the night.   (author unknown)
